I'm a medical assistant student in my last term before externship and am medical metric math challenged. This reference guide is invaluable! It has the basic conversions with the formulas for you to compute conversions yourself without a conversation calculator. My program supervisor and instructors have all bought this reference guide. Associate students have as well. There's also coding measurements; apothecary system equivalents and abbreviations; laboratory measurements; pediatric classifications, dosage calculations, etc.; and clinical indicators. This is the best medical math reference guide available in laminated 3-ring form. Highly recommend!
I bought this Medical Math chart in order to help me study for my upcoming Pharmacy Technician licence. I love that it is laminated so nothing can ruin it as I will be using it alot. There is a lot of info on the chart that is useful in my everyday job as well as it will teach me so much more for my test! Easy to read and good size! Thank you!
I purchased this bc I was so excited to get organized once I got into nursing school! Let me be clear - DO NOT buy it! Not that it isn't an informative tool to have.. but because you will just genuinely not ever use it as a reference. Most of the times certain textbooks and facilities use different ranges than this one.
what a waste of money. This is not a medical math reference guide. It is a conversion guide. There are about 3-4 different med math examples and the rest is conversions and normal values. It's not that it isn't useful information, but it is misrepresented. Don't bother if what you really want is dosage calculations.
Can't say I have used it as much as I would have liked, but as a nursing student, I like knowing I have it if I need it. It truly has almost everything one may need for a quick reference. Rounding, conversions, and even measurements that you would need to know. Some things may be different per facility policy, but overall, I would recommend just to have for a quick refresher or to confirm yourself if you are ever not sure. They sell for close to $15 at my campus bookstore. So for less than half that, I would consider it a good buy.
A great quick reference for the TEAS test or even the seasoned medical professional! This helped me get in to a nursing program.
Now I just need to put it ALL in my head and get through nursing school with flying colors!
I have used this in my coding classes. It hels with the conversion of metric measurements and many equations. Helpful for anyone taking medical classes.
